This workshop offers practical and creative approaches to meet the unique needs of individuals with ASD, including difficulties in communication, sensory processing and social interaction. The workshop will cover the basics of ASD, and explores how some creative activities can create safe, structured ways for individuals to express feelings and experiences that may be hard to communicate verbally. Activities including drawing and creative storytelling will be included, showing how these can foster social skills, emotional awareness and self-acceptance. The workshop will give you the opportunity to gain a toolkit of creative and adaptable strategies for those on the autism spectrum.
This day is suitable for student and qualified Counsellors, Supervisors, Ministers and Church Leaders, Pastoral and Youth Workers, Teachers and Teaching Assistants together with anyone with an interest in this subject.
